The Christians' Identity In Christ
"Therefore
if any
man be in Christ,
he
is a
new creature:
old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new." (II Corinthians 5:17)
Saved by grace
"For
by grace are ye saved
through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is
the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should
boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Totally forgiven without the aid of Masses, penances and
indulgences
"And you, being dead
in
your
sins
and the
uncircumcision
of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him,
having forgiven you all trespasses."
(Colossians 2:13)
Totally cleansed without the aid of Purgatory
"And such were some of you: but
ye are washed,
but
ye
are sanctified, but
ye
are justified
in
the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our
God." (I Corinthians 6:11)
"Not by works of righteousness which

have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by

Totally accepted

Reconciled to God

Chosen by God

Born again

In
fellowship with God

have
seen
and heard declare we unto you, that

our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus

We have been given every spiritual blessing
"Blessed

all spiritual blessings

His divine power hath given

through the knowledge of Him that hath called

Freed from the law
"Wherefore,
my
brethren,
ye also are become dead to the law by
the body of Christ; that
ye should be married to another, even to Him who
is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit
unto God." (Romans 7:4)
Baptized into Christ's body (the church)
"For
by
one
Spirit
are we all baptized into one body,
whether
we
be
Jews or
Gentiles, whether we be bond
or
free and have been all
made
to drink into one Spirit." (1 Corinthians 12:13)
Baptized into Christ
A.
United with Him in His death.
"Know
ye
not, that
so
many of
us as
were baptized into
Jesus
Christ
were baptized into His death_"

"I
am crucified
with Christ..." (Galatians 2:20)
B.
United with Him in His resurrection.
"Therefore
we
are buried with Him
by
baptism into death: that like
as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the
Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

C.
United with Him in His ascension.
"Even when
we
were
dead
in sins, hath quickened
us
together with Christ, (by grace
ye
are saved) and hath raised
us up
together, and made
us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus."
