The Christians' Identity In Christ
"Therefore
if any
man be in Christ,
he
is a
new creature:
old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new." (II Corinthians 5:17)
Saved by grace
"For
by grace are ye saved
through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is
the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should
boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Totally forgiven without the aid of Masses, penances and
indulgences
"And you, being dead
in
your
sins
and the
uncircumcision
of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him,
having forgiven you all trespasses."
(Colossians 2:13)
Totally cleansed without the aid of Purgatory
"And such were some of you: but
ye are washed,
but
ye
are sanctified, but
ye
are justified
in
the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our
God." (I Corinthians 6:11)
"Not by works of righteousness which
we
have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by
the
washing of regeneration,
and
renewing
of the Holy Ghost." (Titus 3:5)
Totally accepted
"Wherefore receive
ye
one another,
as Christ also received us to
the glory of God." (Romans 15:7)
Freed from condemnation
"There
is
therefore now
no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus."
(Romans 8:1)
Completely Redeemed

we have redemption
through His blood, the forgiveness of
sins, according to
the riches of His grace."
(Ephesians 1:7)
Completely Justified
"Being justified freely by His grace
through the redemption that
is in
Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:24)
Made Complete
"For
in Him
(Christ) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead
bodily. And
ye are complete in Him,
which
is
the head of all principality and power." (Colossians
2:9-10)
Reconciled to God
"For if, when
we
were enemies,
we were reconciled to God
by the death of
His
Son, much more,
being
reconciled,
we
shall be saved
by
His life." (Romans 5:10)
Given total access to God without the aid of priests or
saints
"In Whom (Christ)
we have boldness and access
with confidence by the faith of
Him."
(Ephesians
3: 12)
Made at peace with God
"Therefore
being
justified by faith,
we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:1)
Made into a new creation
"For
we
are
His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
unto good works, which God hath before ordained that
we
should walk
in
them." (Ephesians 2:10)
Made into a temple of the Holy Spirit
"What? know
ye
not that
your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
which
is in
you, which
ye
have of God, and
ye
are not your own?" (I Corinthians 6:19)
Indwelt by the Holy Spirit
"But
ye
are not
in
the flesh, but
in
the Spirit, if
so
be that
the Spirit of God dwell in you.
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he
is
none of
His."
(Romans 8:9)
Made children of God
"But
as
many
as
received Him,
to
them gave He power
to become the sons of God,
even
to
them that believe
on His
name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the
will
of the flesh, nor of the
will
of man, but of God." (John 1:12-13)
"For
ye
are all the
children of God
by faith
in
Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:26)
Adopted into God's family
"But when the fulness of the
time
was
come,
God sent forth
His
Son, made of
a
woman, made under the law,
to
redeem them that were under the law,
that we might receive the adoption of sons."
(Galatians 4:4-5)
"For
ye
have not received the spirit of bondage
again to
fear; but
ye have received the Spirit of adoption,
whereby
we
cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8:15)
Made heirs of God
"Wherefore thou art
no
more
a
servant, but
a
son; and if
a
son, then
an heir
of God through Christ." (Galatians 4:7)

He
hath
perfected for ever
them that are sanctified." (Hebrews

Made into a holy and royal priesthood
"Ye
also,
as
lively stones,
are
built
up a
spiritual house,
an holy priesthood,
to offer
up
spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by
Jesus
Christ. .. But
ye
are
a
chosen generation,
a royal priesthood, an
holy nation,
a
peculiar people; that
ye
should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out
of darkness into His marvelous light." (I Peter 2:5,9)
" ... Unto Him that loved us, and washed us
from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings
and priests unto God and His Father ... " (Revelation
1:5b-6)

to present you holy and unblameable
and unreproveable in His sight." (Colossians 1:22)

ye
were sometimes darkness, but
now are ye light in the Lord;
walk
as
children of light." (Ephesians 5:8)
Passed from death to life

my
word, and believeth
on
Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come
into condemnation; but is
passed from death unto life."

He quickened
(made alive) who were
dead
in trespasses and sins hath quickened
us
together with Christ." (Ephesians 2:1,5)

Spirit of our God." (I Corinthians 6:11)

through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for
all." (Hebrews 10:10)

as

as
have been baptized into Christ
have put on Christ."

Sealed in Christ

ye
heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in
whom also after that
ye
believed,
ye were sealed
with that Holy Spirit of promise." (Ephesians 1:13)

as
His divine power hath given

to glory and virtue." (Il Peter 1:3)
Freed from the law

unto God." (Romans 7:4)
Baptized into Christ's body (the church)

by
one
Spirit
